Habitat: Australia

Status: No conservation concerns

I have very mixed feelings toward the Elephant Weevil (Orthorhinus cylindrirostris). On the one hand, I think it’s pretty interesting, and in a strange way rather cute. I think it’s because I imagine it more like a miniature elephant rather than a bug. But let’s face it I like bugs too.

Now here’s why I’m having trouble completely falling in love (strong words, I know): the Elephant weevil is a major pest to the WINE INDUSTRY! NOOOOOOO!!!

I love me some wine. Every night. Every day. Wine. Yes please.

WHY MUST YOU DESTROY MY BELOVED BEVERAGE ELEPHANT WEEVIL?!! WHYYYYYYY?!

le sigh.
