Looking like something straight out of a chilling horror movie is this Long-legged Harvestman (Megalopsalis sp.). It’s a member of the family Monoscutidae which is comprised of 32 different species. That’s right – there are 32 different kinds of these lobster-clawed creatures running amok out there!
Luckily though, they aren’t very big, with specimens only reaching between three to ten mm. While I would never want to see a giant version of these things… the thought just came to me that having them be so tiny doesn’t make me feel any less agitated. Being so small they can crawl ANYWHERE. Imagine finding this in your pj’s. YEESH!
