The Green-backed Twinspot (Mandingoa nitidula) reminds me of a bird straight out of a dusty yet extremely grandiose library. It almost looks collegiate, the way it’s ‘dressed.’ If this bird were to be dressed in actual people clothes I picture it wearing something along the lines of this:

I feel like this bird could be a fashion designer’s muse. But he/she better be ready to trek through lowland moist forests of the tropical African region. Or, if no luck finding any Green-backed Twinspots there they should try searching in grassland and shrubland habitats. I call getting to try on the spiffy outfit first!
