Look. at. this. caterpillar. I’ve never seen such colors before! The racing stripe pattern really makes it, too. This is a Cucullia sp. of caterpillar that was discovered by photographer Sergio Monteiro in Quatro Barras, Paraná, Brazil. Since he’s not entirely sure of the exact species of caterpillar this is, it was hard for me to really find any information on it. In fact, these were the only photos I could even find of this creature! Who knows, maybe it’s a new species?

All I know is that it’s absolutely spectacular!
