Quite a lizard huh? This is the Secret Toad-headed Agama (Phrynocephalus mystaceus) and it appears at first glance to be a very ordinary lizard, with its sandy-colored scales and wide mouth. However, this guy sure does have a secret (hence the name)!

When frightened, the Secret Toad-headed Agama unfolds some skin flaps by its mouth that are bright red. It hisses and bares its teeth while the folds are exposed to try and scare off any predators… and I’m sure it works perfectly!!
