It’s not every day you get an overwhelming urge to want to pet a spider. That’s right I said it. But seriously, would you just look at this cute spider’s face?!!? This is a species of jumping spider by the scientific name of Paraphidippus fartilis. To me it looks like an abominable snowman had a baby with a woolly spider to produce this mess of cuteness.

They make these tiny silk tents that they camp out in, waiting for food to wander on by. I’m thinking that they lure them in with a batting of those big, round eyes. How could one resist!

So here’s my question: would you want this spider as a tiny, furry friend? I’m thinking it would be like having a living stuffed animal… with eight legs and four eyes… ALL THE MORE TO LOVE! Cute spider, I need you in my life.
But alas, I searched and searched and only came up with this abominable snowman stuffed animal in my travels. I’m going to settle for it since its dopey, toothy grin makes me happy. I’m 25 going on 5, I know.
