I’ve always wanted to visit Australia for its incredible wildlife (koalas, kangas, and platapuses oh my!) however, I may be rethinking things after finding out that the Triangular Spider (Arkys lancearius) is very common there.

It’s an ambush hunter that stalks its prey by hiding out amongst leaves and ferns or by simply dangling on a few lines of menacingly dangling silk threads. The only saving grace here is that this spider only grows to around 5.5 mm for the male and 8 mm for the female.

I guess I could take that? I’d probably still need a bodyguard just in case. Any takers?!
