Near threatened

This isn’t your average squirrel. It’s an Indian Giant Squirrel and you probably won’t get a chance to see this guy in the wild unless you’re very high up in the canopy of an Indian rainforest… I mean that’s where I spend most of my time but I’m not sure what you like to do on the weekends.

The markings on this squirrel are really lovely, though rather conspicuous in a forest if you ask me. It usually has a two-toned or sometimes three-toned color scheme featuring rust, creamy-beige, dark brown, and tan tones.

When threatened, the Indian Giant Squirrel doesn’t run away. Instead, it will flatten itself up against the bark of the nearest tree in hopes of camouflaging itself. You can see it in action in the last picture up top.

Thanks for the amazing creature, Tammy!
