So you think mice are small? Well now you’re about to meet something even smaller – the Honey Possum! It only weighs 7-11 grams (for the male) and 8-16 grams (for the female) which is about HALF the weight of a mouse! It’s very itty bitty :)The adorable Honey Possum has no close relatives and is thought to be the sole survivor of a long extinct marsupial group. It’s one of the only nectarivorous mammals with a long, pointed snout that holds a slippery tongue with a brush tip which it uses to gather nectar and pollen, much like a hummingbird!
