So remember a while back I posted about how cool it would be to have a mini crocodile? Well, now here’s a little mini alligator for ya! This here is an Arboreal Alligator Lizard and they’re super rare.They only reach about 16 cm in length (including tail) and their bodies can range from bright green to turquoise to brown.

There’s a thriving illegal pet trade going on with these beautiful creatures which is evidenced from the numerous google results showcasing “owners” discussing their adorable “pets.” I’m sure there are numerous captive breeding programs, but efforts should be made to protect the few wild creatures left instead of furthering the public demand for the lizards.
