Happy Halloween!! In honor of this glorious holiday, may I present to you a Hesperiid (skipper) caterpillar of the subfamily Coeliadinae(Awls and Awlets).
I think it’s pretty obvious why I chose to feature this creature today – just look at its face! If that doesn’t look exactly like a meticulously carved jack-o-lantern then I don’t know what does! Nature, you’re pretty damn artistic.
On Sunday I tried my luck at carving a pumpkin, what do you guys think?

 

I mean, it’s no jack-o-lantern-faced caterpillar but I still think it’s pretty good! Ahhhooooo!
